I don't really want to be here
any longer than I have to be
There's people everywhere and it freaks me out
I politely decline a slice from your pizza
I can´t stand the taste of my breath mint
It stings in my mouth as I speak
and the cologne these people use starts to wear me down
as the night just keeps on getting more social
I can´t seem to get it right
And I would bet that you all feel the same
We think so highly of ourselves
Until we find ourselves together in a room
I don´t want to go home
Now it is morning again
Yeah, last night was a night to forget
I ended up going bar to bar
And that´s where my money was spent
No matter how I try
I can´t seem to sedate my blue mind
I know that at any point I could have gone back home
But the headache was worth all my time
Craig Fortnam is well known for being the creative mastermind behind names like "Shrubbies", "North Sea Radio Orchestra", "Arch Garrison", and, well, "Craig Fortnam", of course. He's from the big family of musicians and composers revolving around the cult band "Cardiacs", all of which share some undeniable and hard-to-describe common quality in their songwriting. "Instrumental Music 1" is quite some unspecific title for the wide range of unique avantgarde tracks he has released only recently. Sven B. Schreiber (sbs)
